报告题目: Qflux Green's function experiments for climate sensitivity to ocean heat uptake
报告时间:2017年8月5日(周六)15:30-16:30
报告地点:清华大学蒙民伟科技大楼南楼927
主讲人:Dr. Lu Jian PNNL Climate Dynamics Editor
讲座简介:
A Green’s function experiment with slab ocean model q-flux is designed and performed to explore the spatial dependence of the global warming efficacy by the ocean heat uptake (OHU). It is found that the high latitude OHU has a much greater efficacy (or more effective in driving the warming of the global averaged surface temperature or SST) than that in the tropical ocean. The radiative feedbacks from both clear sky and cloud are investigated using a radiative kernel. The work is still ongoing, only preliminary results will be presented.

主讲人简介:

Dr. Jian Lu specializes in the area of climate dynamics, which is about the inner working of the atmosphere-ocean-land-cryosphere interactions in shaping the spatio-temporal structures in the climate system. The recent research of Dr. Lu has been focused on the dynamical aspects of the climate change, such as how the atmospheric circulations, sea surface temperature and ocean circulation, the major climate variability modes, and the global hydrological cycle are going to respond to the change of the atmospheric composition. His main methodology is putting the question in a hierarchy of numerical models with decreasing complexity so as to unravel the key processes that lead to and essential elements that control the phenomena observed in the real climate or the fully-blown models.
